SUTURE

To suture a wound presupposes there to be a lesion, a history - an imprint that has opened the skin revealing the tender fragility of the self.  This collection titled Suture is based around a love story told using non linear memory. I deconstruct the memory of a man and an animal to create a dialogue of two lovers in a relationship. Through the fusing of bodies I tease out a hidden language of intimacy using symbolic objects and gestures. Suture is the physical manifestation of memories that are neither true nor false but ones that are changing and living.
